How to find Contact an inmate in Massachusetts
If you want to send a letter to an inmate, your letter should include:

The inmate's commitment number in the address

The complete address of the prison
If an inmate has been released or transferred, we will forward your mail if possible. Otherwise, we will send it back to you.
We open all incoming mail for inspection. Under certain conditions, outgoing mail from inmates may also be read.

Inmates are not able to initiate email contact to anyone, but are able to respond to individuals who have sent them emails first.
Emails cost $0.25 each. Please be aware the cost of any emails rejected by DOC staff for objectionable matter will not be refunded, and inmates may be subject to sanctions pursuant to 103 CMR 430, Inmate Discipline.
Inmates have access to phones in all prisons. They are responsible for keeping a list of phone numbers.
All calls have a flat rate per minute, depending on if the call is in-state or out of state.
