Additional Housing-Related Resources for Homeowners who are having difficulty paying their mortgage:

  • If your foreclosure is scheduled in the next 7 days, you should reach out to the Massachusetts Division of Banks (DOB) to request assistance in preventing your foreclosure. Click here to find out how to contact the DOB.      
  • Beginning on July 1, 2023, the state-funded Residential Assistance for Families in Transition (RAFT) program became available to low-income homeowners who are at risk of foreclosure. Eligible homeowners may apply for RAFT through the Emergency Housing Payment Assistance Portal.

Massachusetts Homeowner Assistance Fund Summary

The Massachusetts Homeowner Assistance Fund (Mass HAF) was funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) to help Massachusetts homeowners impacted by COVID-19. Mass HAF was administered by the Massachusetts Housing Partnership (MHP) and the Massachusetts Housing Finance Agency (MassHousing), in collaboration with the Massachusetts Executive Office for Administration and Finance (A&F), the Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (EOHLC), and the Massachusetts Division of Banks (the Division).
