What you need   for Reinstate a License: Architects

  1. For licenses expired within the last year to less than three (3) years (please disregard question 24 & 25 in your submittal):
    1. Submit to the Board a complete reinstatement application and the processing fee of $113.00, payments are to be made payable to: The Commonwealth of Mass.
    2. Include proof of continuing education (CMR 231 3:06) for a recent 2-year period (24 hours in HSW).
  2. For licenses expired more than three (3) years ago but less than ten (10) years:
    1. Submit to the Board a complete reinstatement application and the processing fee of $113.00, payments are to be made payable to: The Commonwealth of Mass.
    2. Submit to the Board graphic evidence of three (3) current projects appropriate to the scope for which the registrant desires to be licensed.
    3. Submit to the Board a reference letter from each of the clients whose projects are being presented (3 letters).
    4. The requirement to submit three (3) current projects and three (3) corresponding reference letters may be waived upon submission of a current NCARB file; IF this applies to you, you must request NCARB transmit your file to the Board.
      1. With NCARB submittal you can disregard questions 24 & 25 within the application.
    5. Provide to the Board a brief written history of your practice since your license lapsed.
    6. Provide proof of continuing education (CMR 231 3:06) for a recent 2-year period (24 hours in HSW).
  3. For those licenses expired for more than ten (10) years:
    1. Submit to the Board a complete reinstatement application and the processing fee of $113.00, payments are to be made payable to: The Commonwealth of Mass.
    2. Submit to the Board graphic evidence of three (3) current projects appropriate to the scope for which the registrant desires to be licensed.
    3. Submit to the Board a reference letter from each of the clients whose projects are being presented (3 letters).
    4. The requirement to submit three (3) current projects and three (3) corresponding reference letters may be waived upon submission of a current NCARB file; IF this applies to you, you must request NCARB transmit your file to the Board.
    5. Provide to the Board a brief written history of your practice since your license lapsed.
    6. Provide proof of continuing education (CMR 231 3:06) for a recent 2-year period (24 hours in HSW).
    7. You may be required to appear for a personal interview before the Registration Board.
    8. You may be required to take the current A.R.E. examination (computer examination).

Fees   for Reinstate a License: Architects

The Board will send notification of the final license reinstatement fees after review and approval. Fees are capped at the cost of two license renewal cycles plus one late fee.
