What you need

Renew your HIC registration at the MA Contractor Hub

NOTE: Renewal applications submitted more than 30 days beyond the expiration of the HIC Registration will require you to:

  • Obtain a new HIC Registration card
  • Pay associated registration and Guaranty Fund fees

If you have never registered with HIC before, visit the MA Contractor Hub to start the process.

Fees

Pay by credit card through your MA Contractor Hub account. The only other payment options accepted are certified bank check or money order. We do not accept cash, or personal or business checks.

How to renew

Visit the MA Contractor Hub to renew your HIC registration.

If you want to pay with a certified check or money order, you can bring payment in-person and we can help you renew on-site using the MA Contractor Hub. HIC in-person registration service will be on Tuesdays, by appointment only. To make an appointment, or for registration help, call 617-973-8787, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

IMPORTANT: If you are renewing in person, only payment by credit card, certified check, or money order is accepted. Any other form of payment, including cash, credit/debit card, or personal or business checks, will not be accepted.

If you have previously held a Registration, it must be renewed every 2 years.

If you are filing as a Doing Business As (DBA), you must provide a current copy of the business certificate filed with the city or town clerk.
