You must have a current registration to drive your vehicle legally. If your registration has been lost or stolen, you should replace it as soon as possible.

What you need

To replace your vehicle registration, you will need your:

  • Vehicle registration number
  • Driver's license or ID number for individuals or FID number for companies
  • Applicable fee

If ordering the replacement online, you will also need to provide your email address.

How to replace

To request a replacement registration online, you will need your:

  • Vehicle registration number
  • Driver's license, ID, or Federal Identification (FID) number
  • Email address
  • Applicable fee

If you need to change your address, be sure to change it before processing your transaction.

Your registration can be printed immediately or it will be mailed to you in 7-10 days. 

You can call the Contact Center to request a replacement registration. You will need your:

  • Registration number
  • Driver's license, ID, or FID number
  • Applicable fee

You will receive the registration in the mail within 5 - 7  days.

You can pay with cash, check, or money order. Since payment methods vary by location, check what’s accepted at the site you will be visiting.

For leased vehicles, the replacement registration will be mailed to the leasing company unless the replacement is requested in person.
