State Library VitalLaw Access Policy

VitalLaw is a legal database packed with resources such as treatises, guide books, legal news and more!  VitalLaw pass logins are reserved for permanent Massachusetts state employees. VitalLaw pass login requests will be approved by State Library Staff as there are a limited number of licenses. If accounts are available, non-permanent state employees and interns needing access to VitalLaw for a project may be given temporary access for the duration of their project, subject to Library approval.

This service is offered to assist with projects that last a specific duration for a time period no longer than 3 months. This is not intended to act as a long-term subscription for Massachusetts state employees.  You must complete this form and agree to these terms before submitting. Participants are responsible for keeping track of their time and workload before the expiration date.  All accounts will be deleted on the expiration date, so please plan accordingly.  The library is not responsible for lost data from any deleted accounts.

If you wish to apply for an account please fill out the online request form with all of the required information for review by State Library Staff.  Once approved, you will receive a welcome email from Wolters Kluwer with the credentials to set up your account.  If you have any questions, please contact reference.department@mass.gov.
