What you need to know before applying

To qualify, you must be a Massachusetts employer with up-to-date unemployment contributions, a positive reserve balance, and filed wage reports. Employees must be permanent full-time or part-time (seasonal and temporary workers are ineligible). Visit the frequently asked question webpage for more information about program eligibility. 

How to apply

Log in to your Unemployment Services for Employers account using your MyMassGov business username and password.

From your unemployment services homepage, to start a new WorkShare plan: 

  1. In the employer information panel, click view more employer details.
  2. Go to the additional actions tab.
  3. In the WorkShare Program panel, click apply for a WorkShare Plan.
  4. Follow the prompts and click submit to complete your application.

DUA will review your appliacation.

DUA will review your application and send a notification to your Unemployment Services for Employers inbox once a decision is made.

Managing your WorkShare plan

If you need to modify your WorkShare plan

  1. From the Employer Information panel, click the view more employer details.
  2. Select the additional actions .
  3. In the WorkShare program panel, select manage WorkShare plans.
  4. Select the additional actions.
  5. Click the change type drop-down field. A list of WorkShare plan actions is displayed.
  6. Complete the additional steps to modify the plan as necessary.

To file weekly certifications on behalf of your participating employees'

  1. From the outstanding plan weeks panel, click begin filing plan weeks.
  2. Gather your background information and click next.
  3. Manually enter the hours worked or upload a file with the information, confirm each employee and click next.
  4. Review the information and click submit.
