Adoption eligibility

To be eligible to adopt a child from the Department of Children & Families (DCF) you must meet the minimum eligibility requirements.

Eligibility requirements

Be a Massachusetts resident 18 years of age or older
Have a stable source of income
Rent or own a home that meets DCF’s home safety standards
Pass a background check
