Program Description & Goals
This $40 million initiative was part of the Commonwealth’s broader climate adaptation and mitigation efforts. It is a grant program focused on municipal resilience that uses clean energy technology solutions to protect communities from interruptions in energy services due to severe climate events made worse by the effects of climate change.
Early Rounds of the grants in 2014 focused on project implementation in critical infrastructure and technical assistance.
In 2016, a new round of grants (Round 3) was announced, providing up to $11.5 million in funding. Round 3 is focusing on Resiliency Implementation at Hospitals, Feasibility Studies for State Owned Medical Facilities, and Resiliency Tool Development.
