Fair Share is delivering real results in education & transportation
In 2022, voters passed the Fair Share Amendment, which created a 4% surtax on annual income above $1 million. Since then, Fair Share has brought in billions of dollars in revenue every year, far exceeding initial expectations.
Funds raised by Fair Share are dedicated to investments in public education and transportation. The Healey-Driscoll Administration is leveraging Fair Share to address long-standing underinvestment in Massachusetts’ public education and transportation systems.
These resources allow Massachusetts to:
- Improve our roads, bridges and public transit systems.
- Fund programs that help students succeed – from early to higher education.
The Healey-Driscoll Administration is investing Fair Share dollars to make Massachusetts the best place to raise a family or grow a business.
