About GrantWell
The Federal Funds and Infrastructure Office was established with the core priority of implementing a whole-of-government approach to ensure the Commonwealth of Massachusetts was maximizing its competitiveness in the pursuit of federal funding.
Through extensive community engagement, FFIO learned that one of the main barriers to applying to federal programs was capacity. Municipalities often do not have dedicated grant-writing staff and cannot apply to programs without external assistance.
FFIO, in collaboration with the Burnes Center of Northeastern University, set out to leverage artificial intelligence, and in particular large language model (LLM) technology to address this issue.
