Jason was the best son a mom and dad could ever be blessed with. He was the definition of a stand-up man, a good dude in every way. Jason graduated from Cathedral High School in 2001, where he excelled both as a scholar and as an athlete. He obtained his associate degree from Roxbury Community College and a Bachelor of Business Administration from UMass Boston. Jason was a man with superhuman strength and the memory of an elephant. Never more than a phone call away, he was the one person many people turned to for help. He lived out his passions to the fullest extent – playing basketball, riding his motorcycle, his competitive drive always bettering himself, taking time to coach and mentor the youth, wearing the same black leather pants on his birthday, fixing cars, and refereeing basketball and lacrosse games. Never one to miss a good meal, Jason also prided himself on his ability to cook, especially his mac and cheese, stew chicken, and rice and peas. He made every day and night brighter just by being there with you with his signature laugh and through his storytelling. Jason was murdered a month before his 40th birthday. He will be remembered as a loving and thoughtful son, a big brother, an uncle, a godfather, a best friend, an easy-going and playful, yet caring and responsible friend, and overall a phenomenal human being. Jason’s steady presence will always be missed. Jason was just a kid who loved basketball and that love evolved into service to his community.
