Liam A. Tisei Fitzgerald

Liam was 27 years old when he was taken from us on July 24, 2021. He was the victim of a fatal vehicular crash in which he drowned and sustained multiple injuries. The driver, his friend, was drunk, survived, pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide, and is presently in jail.

It is best to remember Liam for his generosity, kindness, gentleness, humor, and love of family, friends, his cats Tony and Mario, and nature. His capacity to give continues by his willingness to have been an organ donor. Liam’s gifts of life were given to those in Massachusetts, Arizona, California, Washington D.C., Florida, Washington, Maine, Nebraska, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and South Korea.

Liam was a proud Bostonian - he was born here, lived his life here, attended Boston schools, and was working in Boston upon his death. His roots were Boston Strong, surrounded by his parents, younger sister, many, many cousins, aunts, and uncles, and friends he considered family. He also left behind his dog Willie.

He graduated from the Norfolk Agricultural High School in 2013 and continued his passion for the environment and nature with a B.S degree from MCLA in 2017. Liam played rugby for MCLA . Liam’s jobs and internships over the years reflected his passion for the earth and nature. This included Boston-based programs, internships, and jobs at the Arboretum, Urban Wilds, National Parks at John Adams Home, Olmstead, George Wright Golf Course, and Boston Urban Wilds.

Please remember Liam for his kindness, the people he loved and befriended, and his love of family, friends, sports, rugby, gaming, soccer, his pets, and Boston.

As you walk the parks and wilds of the city, think of our Liam.

“I took a walk in the woods and came out taller than the trees… (Thoreau)
