The MA Contractor Hub is a mobile-friendly, one-stop platform offering many services and features for contractors and homeowners.

The MA Contractor Hub

As a contractor using the Hub you can:

  • Apply for a new registration
  • Renew or update your existing Home Improvement Contractor registration
  • Create supplemental registration cards
  • Pay your balance
  • Manage your account
  • File an arbitration request

Your HIC registration and payment must be completed online using the MA Contractor Hub. Paper applications and paper certified checks are no longer accepted and will be sent back to you. In-person service for contractors is available Monday-Friday, 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM at One Federal Street, Boston (except on holidays). If you come in person, you will still need to use the MA Contractor Hub to register and pay. 

As a homeowner using the Hub you can: 

  • Look up contractor registrations and history to make an informed decision before hiring
  • Apply for arbitration to help resolve a dispute with a contractor
  • Submit a claim to the Guaranty Fund, a fund of last resort that compensates eligible homeowners up to $25,000 from the Guaranty Fund for unpaid judgments against contractors
  • File a complaint against a contractor
  • Check the status of an arbitration, Guaranty Fund, or complaint submission
