Each seat on the Special Commission represents a different sector or area of expertise and brings diverse insights on transforming the local public health system. This helps to address local public health challenges and support effective, equitable solutions across Massachusetts.
The membership of the Special Commission includes:
- Eight appointees by the Governor
- Four representatives from Executive Branch agencies
- Four appointees by legislative leadership
- Nine representatives of named organizations
The Special Commission is chaired by the Commissioner of the Department of Public Health (or their designee).
