What is a Learning Management System?
A Learning Management System (LMS) is a software application to house all training content and records: access to online courses, class materials, a course catalog & calendar of upcoming offerings, a registration system and transcripts.
How Will I Know When I Can Access the New Site?
An email will be sent to current users with log on instructions when the site transition is complete.
How Will This Change Impact Me?
We expect very little impact on the delivery of our services during this transition. User accounts have been transferred from our former site. We ask that you review your user profile to ensure all information is current.
I Haven’t Taken a Class in Years, Should I Create a New Account?
No, even if it has been a long time since you’ve taken a course with us, we can reactivate your account. This will ensure your past course completion records remain with you. Our staff can assist you through the process if you have any difficulties. Reach out to NEMTEC@mass.gov.
Will There Be Any Downtime to the Training Site?
To facilitate the transition, NEMTEC course listings and enrollment via our existing Training Registration Site (TRS) will be unavailable for a short time. We will post the date once it is set.
Will I Have to Re-register for Upcoming Classes?
No, courses you have enrolled in or have applied for have been transferred to our current LMS. You can find these in your dashboard under “My Courses”.
Will I Have a Record of All My Past Classes?
Yes, a record of all courses you’ve taken through MEMA/NEMTEC will be transferred to the new site. Student transcripts in the new site will have a different appearance, some users may want to download a copy of their transcripts before the move. Users can access their transcripts and course completion certificates through the “transcript” and “training history” features under “My Account” on TRS.
