Position description
The CLAS (Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services) is a program within the Office of the Assistant Commissioner for Health Equity that provides training, evaluation support, technical assistance, and subject-matter expertise to programs across the Department to promote the use of the CLAS framework as program management quality improvement (PMQI) tool to advance health and racial equity.
Responsibilities
With guidance, the CLAS Intern will support the updating of the CLAS Manual called “Making CLAS Happen: Six Areas of Action”. Using a racial equity lens, the CLAS intern will consolidate guidance materials on building community partnerships and community engagement as well as identify and design a resources page to share with DPH colleagues.
Skills and qualifications desired
Strong writing, editing, research, and communication skills are preferred. Familiar with Microsoft 365, including Word, SharePoint, One Note, and PowerPoint software. The candidate should be a critical thinker and independent worker. System-level understanding experience as well as an understanding of equity and intersectionality, as principles related to public health.
