Healthy Building Network Resource Guide for EOHLC

EOHLC is dedicated to reducing health and safety hazards in housing in line with HUD’s Healthy Homes strategy, in a comprehensive and cost-effective manner, with a focus on protecting the health of children and other sensitive populations in low-income housing.

EOHLC’s current resource for healthy building environments is the HUD Health@HOME High-Performance Housing Rehabilitation Guidelines but is working to further develop resources for Massachusetts’s Local Housing Authorities, including but not limited to EPA’s Indoor Air Quality Guidelines for Multifamily Renovations, and Mindful Materials and the Healthy Building Network

As guidelines are developed and refined, they will be added to the Design Guidelines webpage

Applying for Funding to complete Indoor Air Quality Capital Projects

A Housing Authority may apply for EOHLC Sustainability funds to assist with the installation of equipment which improves indoor air quality (IAQ) within buildings. At-present, these are predominantly bathroom fans and kitchen range hoods, and kitchen stove conversions from gas to electric.

Additionally, a Housing Authority may apply for funding to cover the incremental cost of certain building materials.
