Our Public Information staff can answer your general questions about workers' compensation benefits and let you know the correct procedures to follow to receive these benefits. For instance, if your injury or illness claim is denied by the insurer, or if you do not receive all the benefits you think you are entitled to, the DIA’s Public Information staff is available to help guide you through the process.

It's important you keep any documents your employer or its insurer sends you, as well as copies of any forms they have you fill out for them. If you call our Public Information Office, have these forms available along with a pen or pencil and notepaper. It might be helpful to write out your questions in advance so you don't forget to ask any questions you might have.

Our staff can't provide legal advice; if you're looking for advice, you need to contact a workers' compensation attorney. We can't refer you to a specific attorney, but do have contact information for the various Workers' Compensation Bar Associations.

Please be advised that the information contained in any of our brochures and website is general in nature and isn't intended as a substitute for legal advice. Changes in the law or the specific facts of your case may result in legal interpretations, which are different than presented here.
