The Judicial Response System is part of the Executive Office of the Trial Court. The system and assists the police and the public when prompt emergency judicial action is required outside of normal court hours, and reflects an ongoing commitment to promoting the orderly and effective administration of the judicial system. Service on the system, by statute G.L. c. 211B, § 9 (vi) is mandatory for all Trial Court judges. The Massachusetts State and local police serve as contact points for parties requiring emergency judicial intervention.
The Judicial Response System was designed to provide judicial intervention in emergency matters when the courts are closed.
