These are the current Massachusetts Cancer Registry edits.  They may be used with software to check the quality of cancer abstracts before submission to the Cancer Registry.  Download a compressed file, extract the edits metafile, and save it to a location that is accessible to your software.

Metafile notes

5/25/2023 v23B Massachusetts customized metafile (one edit set) for MA hospitals. This edit set has only been tested on converted V22 hospital data files (not data abstracted in V23 software). We have only standard NAACCR data fields based on the standard NAACCR base dictionary.

There are some known problems with some standard edits in the 23B metafile but they are not expected to cause any major impact.

As of 11/30/23 v24 Massachusetts standard metafile should be available on the Mass.gov and NAACCR websites.
