A planning-level assessment of risks from flooding under future climate scenarios
Over the past few decades, Massachusetts has experienced significant increases in heavy precipitation events and flooding. These events have damaged transportation assets and adversely affected their users. Scientists project that these events will continue to increase in intensity and frequency over the coming century. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is working to better understand and address future flood-related threats to its transportation infrastructure.
