MassDOT has completed an Electric Vehicle (EV) Infrastructure Deployment Plan as required by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act’s National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program. Through the NEVI program, Massachusetts will receive significant formula funding over five years, including approximately $9.4M for FFY22. These formula funds are available for supporting the construction and operation of Direct-Current Fast Charging (DCFC) stations along major highway corridors as designated by the Federal Highway Administration.
MassDOT is transitioning NEVI from planning to implementation, which includes the development of a solicitation to contract with a private entity to accomplish the deployment strategy described in the NEVI Plan.
