Maurice J. Tobin Bridge Long-Term Strategic Planning Study
A collaborative conceptual planning study evaluating long-term alternatives for the replacement of the Tobin Bridge.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is undertaking a planning study to develop and assess alternatives for the Maurice J. Tobin Bridge (“Tobin Bridge”) and its connecting infrastructure. The Tobin Bridge carries U.S. Route 1 between Chelsea and Boston – an important regional connection in Eastern Massachusetts. This study will be a collaborative effort with elected and local officials, members of the public, and other stakeholders.
