Boston — Today, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit Court ruled that the Trump Administration's attempt to end the constitutional guarantee of birthright citizenship by Executive Order is illegal. Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell issued the following statement on the decision:

“Today's ruling strongly affirms what we have long known to be true: Birthright citizenship is a constitutional right, enshrined in the Fourteenth Amendment, and the President does not have the authority to take it away. I will continue fighting to uphold the rule of law and defend the rights of every child born in the United States. As this case continues through the courts, I am confident our success will continue, and the President’s blatantly unconstitutional Executive Order will never take effect.”
