BOSTON — Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell today issued the following statement after a federal judge in the U.S. District Court for Massachusetts dismissed a long-pending lawsuit on the Commonwealth’s Right to Repair law, filed by major automakers shortly after voters passed that law by ballot initiative in the 2020 election:
“Today’s decision is a significant victory for Massachusetts voters who overwhelmingly approved the Right to Repair law in 2020. My office fought tirelessly to defend this law and because of our efforts, automakers must ensure that residents can choose where their cars are repaired and independent repair shops can access the data needed for those repairs,” said AG Campbell. "I am proud of my team’s tremendous work on this case.”
A copy of the Court’s decision will be made available once it is public.
