BOSTON — The Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office (AGO) today announced that it has awarded $424,223.83 in funding to 38 organizations across the Commonwealth to support youth summer job opportunities that focus on advancing public health and professional development for young people.
The funding was awarded through the AGO’s Healthy Summer Youth Jobs (HSYJ) Grant Program, which provides annual grant funding to community-based non-profit organizations and municipalities that create meaningful summer job opportunities for youth. The Program helps support young people enrich their own professional development through on-the-job experience, skills development, and career planning.
Since its inception 12 years ago, the HSYJ Program has awarded more than $3.8 million in grants, funding more than 1,600 summer youth jobs in over 100 cities and towns across the Commonwealth.
This year, for fiscal year 2026 of the HSYJ Program, after receiving a record breaking 155 applications, the AGO has awarded 38 organizations, including non-profit and municipal entities.

- Physical Activity/Wellness Programs
- Nutrition/Food Insecurity Initiatives
- Mental Health/Peer Support Programs
- Environmental Projects
- Violence Prevention/Community Safety
- Substance Use/Harm Reduction Programs
