The Massachusetts State Mental Health Planning Council (Planning Council) created a web site (http://www.mass-smhpc.org/) to promote respect, dignity and access to prevention, early intervention, health engagement and activation, housing, employment and other support services that encourage individuals of all ages and their families to develop resilience, fully recover and be productive members of their communities. The web site provides persons with lived experience and their family members, advocates and providers a resource for information about the council and its activities.

The Planning Council, a standing committee of the Mental Health Advisory Council (MHAC) to the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health (DMH), and its subcommittees are a principal means of involving consumers and families in DMH. The Planning Council and its subcommittees provide a strong and ongoing voice for recovery and resiliency. The Planning Council made important contributions in identifying particular domains needing transformation in the mental health system and subcommittees have played an active role in planning and implementing many of these transformation efforts occurring in the Commonwealth.

The Planning Council welcomes ideas and feedback from all individuals, family/caretakers, providers, and advocates about the website or helpful ideas for resources to include on the web site.  The web site aims to become a key source for information on services and support.
