Media Contact for Auditor Bump Tours Quabbin Reservoir to Discuss Water Infrastructure

Belchertown — On Friday, October 27th, State Auditor Suzanne M. Bump toured the Quabbin Reservoir with representatives from the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) and the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) to learn more about watershed health and infrastructure. DCR and MWRA work in close cooperation to maintain the conservation lands and waters of the MWRA system. Earlier this year, Bump released a study focused on the water infrastructure needs of municipalities. The report found that municipalities report total unmet water system spending needs of at least $17.8 billion over the next twenty years.
