BROCKTON — The Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office (AGO) announced today that a joint operation with the Brockton Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police’s Commonwealth Interstate Narcotics Reduction Team (CINRET) resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of narcotics and the arrest of a suspected drug trafficker operating out of Brockton, Randolph, and Stoughton.

Operation Knockout City began in July following intelligence that Josue Torres, 28, had allegedly been trafficking narcotics in Brockton, Randolph, and Stoughton. Law enforcement officers utilized controlled narcotics purchases, extensive traditional and court-ordered covert surveillance, and cell phone location data throughout their four-month-long investigation. During this time, Torres changed addresses between Brockton, Stoughton, and Randolph and conducted numerous narcotics sales in those areas.

Ultimately, investigators obtained search warrants for three locations, Torres’ cell phone, and Torres himself. A team of law enforcement officials executed the warrants on October 22, 2024, and arrested Torres at 22 Eames Avenue in Brockton. Additionally, officers seized approximately 934 grams of cocaine, 282 grams of crack cocaine, two grams of fentanyl, and a Polymer 80 9mm “ghost gun” pistol loaded with a large capacity feeding device capable of holding 14 rounds of ammunition. Investigators also located miscellaneous drug packaging and preparation materials.

At the time of his arrest, investigators noted that Torres had an open criminal case out of Plymouth County Superior Court for trafficking heroin in an amount over 36 grams, trafficking cocaine in an amount over 18 grams, possession of a Class A substance (heroin), and possession of a Class E substance (suboxone). Torres also has prior guilty convictions for drug trafficking offenses out of the same Court.

In this matter, Torres was arraigned out of the Brockton District Court on the following charges:

  • Possession of a firearm by an individual with prior convictions for violent crimes or serious drug offenses
  • Possession of ammunition by an individual with prior convictions for violent crimes or serious drug offenses
  • Possession of a large capacity feeding device
  • Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony
  • Trafficking cocaine in an amount over 200 grams
  • Possession with intent to distribute a Class A substance, subsequent offense

Bail in this matter was set at $150,000, and the judge revoked bail on Torres’ pending drug trafficking in Plymouth Superior Court.

All of these charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

This matter was prosecuted by Assistant Attorney General Diana Fantasia of the AGO’s Enterprise and Major Crimes Division.
