It’s easy to check on your tax refund. All you need is your Social Security number and refund amount for tax year 2022.

Use the Check the Status of Your Refund tool.

If you think it’s taking too much time for your refund, there could be a delay. Common reasons for a delay include an incorrect Social Security number, typos, incorrect banking information, and math mistakes.

We recommend e-filing as delays happen more often with paper returns.

Before calling the Contact Center:

  • Give it 4 to 6 weeks for your refund for e-filed returns and 8 to 10 weeks for paper returns or to receive
  • A request from DOR for more information.

The Contact Center can be reached at (617) 887-6367 from 9am to 4pm Monday through Friday.
