Compass Medical Closes All Offices, What GIC members need to know

As a result of Compass Medical abruptly closing down all of its offices, Massachusetts Compass Medical patients no longer have access to a Compass Medical Primary Care Provider (PCP) or Specialist. If you are a GIC member affected by this and have questions or need assistance finding in-network providers, please contact your health plan at the number on the back of your ID card.

Pharmacists can provide patients of abruptly closed Compass Medical practices with up to 30 days worth of certain medications even if they do not have remaining refills on their prescriptions. Compass patients with an emergent need for prescription refills are advised to check first with their pharmacy. In many cases, Compass Medical providers will be ordering prospective prescriptions when appropriate or allowable. Members may also call the Compass phone line for assistance with emergent prescription refills or test results at 508-350-2000.

Compass patients who need an immediate bridge prescription for Buprenorphine, a medication used to treat opioid dependence, have the option to call the free MA Addiction Warmline at 617-414-4175 for an immediate prescription and referral to ongoing care.
