Boston — A Dorchester man has been indicted in connection with the armed bank robbery of a bank in the Boston area, Attorney General Maura Healey announced today.
Hendrick Davis, age 33, of Dorchester, was indicted by a Suffolk County Grand Jury on Monday on the charge of Armed Masked Bank Robbery (one count) in connection with robbing the Meetinghouse Bank in Dorchester. He will be arraigned at a later date in Suffolk Superior Court. Authorities allege that Davis robbed the bank of $2,315 on Jan. 6, 2016.
The AG’s investigation revealed that Davis, who was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses, allegedly showed the bank teller the handle of what appeared to be a firearm and demanded money. Davis allegedly told the teller not to use dye packs or buttons and that he had a gun after throwing a bag at the teller to collect the cash.
Following the robbery, Davis allegedly fled the bank in a rental car. Authorities later located Davis the next day at Logan Airport where he was attempting to rent another car. He was arrested at that time on a warrant unrelated to the bank robbery. Following his arrest, authorities found that Davis had approximately $522 in cash with him.
These charges are allegations and defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
This case is being prosecuted by Assistant Attorney General Megan McLaughlin of AG Healey’s Enterprise, Major and Cyber Crimes Division with assistance from Victim Witness Advocate Megan Murphy. The case was investigated by State Police and Boston Police assigned to the FBI’s Task Force.
