A Response to the Boston Port Bill
September 27, 1774
As a complement to our new exhibit, Raising the Alarm: Revolutionary Broadsides at the State Library, each month a broadside from that exhibit will be on display in our Collection Spotlight case. This month, we are sharing a notice issued by town committees in Boston and surrounding towns in response to the enactment of the Boston Port Bill, one of the Coercive Acts issued by Parliament following the Boston Tea Party (later referred to as the Intolerable Acts). Visit us September 2 through September 29 to see this broadside on display and read more in our blog post.
