The Office of the Inspector General (OIG) provided a letter of testimony regarding legislation relating to the governance, structure and care of veterans at the Commonwealth’s Veterans’ Homes to the Conference Committee. The OIG supports proposed changes that will promote effective management of the Homes, create a clear chain of command and enhance the superintendents’ direct accountability. In the letter the OIG made recommendations regarding the governance of the Veterans’ Homes.
