Flu viruses change all the time. The flu shot is the best way to prevent influenza and its potentially serious complications. That’s why the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends a safe and effective yearly flu vaccine for everyone 6 months old and up. Flu symptoms are very similar to those of COVID-19. Protect yourself and others. Don't delay. Get your flu shot today!
For GIC members that are active state and municipal employees, the flu vaccine is covered by your Express Scripts benefit at a pharmacy or it can be administered during a medical visit. Find a participating pharmacy where you can get your free flu shot. Log in at express-scripts.com and click 'Prescriptions', then 'Find a Pharmacy'.
Note: If you’re a first-time visitor to the website, please take a moment to register using your member ID number. Make sure the pharmacy you choose is part of your network and don’t forget to present your member ID card to the pharmacist at the time of service. You may need an appointment so call ahead.
For GIC members enrolled in Medicare, the flu vaccine is covered under Part B.
