- Massachusetts Commission on LGBTQ Youth
The Massachusetts Commission on LGBTQ Youth is seeking a data consultant to help analyze and report on state data from the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS). As an independent state agency, the Commission on LGBTQ Youth is in a unique position to use this data to inform other public entities about the disparities faced by LGBTQ youth, especially youth of color and others facing intersecting vulnerabilities, and to see that the analysis of this data results in policy change.
The Commission seeks a data consultant to aid it in analyzing the 2017 YRBS data to identify trends in LGBTQ health disparities, including as broken down into key subgroups, such as those identifying racial and ethnic minorities. The consultant will be given access to the relevant data sets and historical numbers for comparison and identifying trends, as well as samples of past fact sheets and reports to guide their work. The consultant will report to the Director of the Commission, and will also work closely with others to receive the necessary background and support. A total contract amount up to $2,000 will be available, consummate with experience, with the hope of extending the contract for future data projects upon successful completion of the first project, which will run March through May 2018. Opportunities to publish peer-reviewed work can be explored.
Please send a cover letter detailing your relevant experience, as well as a C.V., to the Commission’s coordinator Dharani Persaud at dharani.persaud@state.ma.us. Applications are due by February 21.
