- Board of Registration in Nursing
As of March 30, 2020, the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing (Board) supports the Policy Brief endorsed by NCSBN, ACEN, CCNE, NLN, and others encouraging 'U.S. Nursing Leadership to support Practice/Academic Partnerships to Assist the Nursing Workforce during the COVID-19 Crisis':
- If a pre-licensure nursing program choose to enter into a practice/academic partnership between their nursing program and a health care settings to assist the nursing workforce during the COVID-19 crisis the following guidance is issued by the Board:
- Healthcare settings may include but are not limited to acute care facilities and long-term care
- Written clinical affiliation agreements may be abbreviated but must be in place and meet the following guidelines:
- Clinical agreements must be signed and dated
- The health care setting is ultimately responsible for patient care
- The nursing program is ultimately responsible for student education
- The student will be evaluated by the nursing program
- The practice setting must provide the opportunity for the student to meet course learning objectives and end of program learning outcomes
- The students must have clearly delineated clinical objectives and evaluation of the objectives.
