Advocacy Day is an event held annually by the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women (MCSW) to rally for legislation that advances the rights and opportunities of women and girls across the Commonwealth.

Massachusetts Statehouse, Great Hall of Flags — Each May we welcome hundreds of community activists to the Statehouse to rally behind the legislation that increases women's access to opportunities and equality.

The MCSW invites all members of the community to join us for Advocacy Day 2023 at the Massachusetts Statehouse on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 11am - 3pm ET.

Register now for Advocacy Day 2023. Registration closes May 19th. 

The Commission discusses key findings from the previous year in collaboration with regional Commissions, reports findings collected from public hearings hosted during the year throughout the Commonwealth, and lays out our legislative priorities for the coming session. Attendees also hear from the Commission Chair, Regional Commission Chairs, and State Legislators. 

The event includes time for members of the Commission and supporters to visit legislators to discuss priority legislation.

When: Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at the Massachusetts Statehouse.

  • Breakfast and Registration: 10am - 11am ET
  • Speaking Program: 11:00am - 12:00pm 
  • Lunch: 12:00 - 12:30pm
  • Legislative Visits: 12:30 - 2:00pm
  • Report back and Closing: 2:30 - 3:00pm

Where: Meet at the Great Hall Entrance.

Speak with legislators about issues that affect you, your family, and your community. Learn about our legislative progress and our legislative priorities including: paid family and medical leave, equality in disability insurance, childcare for candidates, and more. Hear from elected officials about the status of women’s access to equality and opportunities in Massachusetts. We encourage you to bring your colleagues, friends, and families!
