Berkshire Athenaeum, Pittsfield's Public Library — We want to hear from you! The Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women (MCSW) is hosting our next in-person public hearing – this time in Pittsfield, MA.
We're seeking registrants to give testimony on issues facing women, children, and families in the Berkshires. Your input on issues that matter to you directly informs the MCSW legislative agenda.

What: MCSW Public Hearing
When: Thursday, November 17thth, 2022 from 5-7 PM EST 
Where: Berkshire Athenaeum, Pittsfield's Public Library - 1 Wendell Ave, Pittsfield, MA 01201
Why: The MCSW is seeking testimony to inform their policy priorities for the 2022-2023 legislative session. They seek input on issues that matter to women, children, and families in the Berkshires, focusing on survivors of violence and issues impacting the LGBTQIA+ community.

Community leaders, residents, and elected officials are invited to attend either virtually or in person, and testimony is open to any member of the public across the Commonwealth.

Who We Are: Commissioners serving on the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women (MCSW) are appointed by the Governor, Senate President, Speaker of the House and Caucus of Women Legislators. The organization is responsible for studying, reviewing and reporting on the status of women in the Commonwealth, and are charged with advising executive and legislative bodies on the effect of proposed legislation on women. To that end, the Commission conducts regional public hearings across the state to collect testimony and opinions on women’s issues and concerns. The Commission represents and recognizes all women, regardless of their age, race, color, creed, abilities, language, socio-economic status, immigration status, sexual orientation, or gender identity at birth.

This will be a hybrid event with a remote participation option. ASL Interpreting, Closed Captioning, and other language accessibility needs will be available for this event.
