Quincy, Mass. — At their Sept. 10th Council Meeting, citizen members of the Massachusetts Developmental Disabilities Council voted to reelect two members of the Executive Committee.
Raquel Quezada, Council Chairperson and Sandra Heller, Member at Large will each serve an additional term on the Executive Committee, where they have played vital roles in shaping decisions, overseeing organizational goals, and ensuring that the Council remains aligned with its mission. Both individuals bring a wealth of experience, deep community involvement, and strong advocacy for systems change that benefits people with intellectual/developmental disabilities and their families. Both Quezada and Heller have been serving in their current roles since September 2023.
Quezada, a Lawrence resident who has roots in the Dominican Republic, brings her experience as an author and radio host, along with a personal commitment to disability advocacy to her role. In their previous term on the Executive Committee, she helped guide strategic planning efforts and supported Council initiatives, while also representing the Council and her communities at both the state and national level.
Heller, a Marion resident brings over 30 years of experience in the field of developmental disabilities to her role has contributed to several initiatives within the Council. Her knowledge and guidance has been instrumental in building partnerships with stakeholders and advancing policy recommendations at both the state and local levels.
