MILFORD — The Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) is pleased to announce it will be opening a new, fully accessible service center location in Milford on Monday, June 23. The new, 9,176-square-foot service center is located at 138 South Main Street, and all appointments and road tests scheduled for Monday, June 23, or later are taking place at the new location.

“As we continue working to enhance the customers’ experience at our service centers, the Milford relocation is one of three scheduled relocations planned for this year,” said Registrar of Motor Vehicles Colleen Ogilvie. “Starting June 23, if a customer has a scheduled appointment in Milford, they should remember that they need to show up at 138 South Main Street, which is the new location.”

The new location includes several updates to enhance safety, accessibility, and customer experience. There are 17 customer service counters, as well as a separate Business-to-Business area for commercial customers. Other upgrades include the addition of an employee wellness room and real-time indoor air quality monitoring.

Over the past several years, the RMV has made strides in building an industry-leading environment for individual and commercial customers, as well as for business and government partners. The RMV’s goal is to have locations which ensure improved accessibility and parking, efficient customer intake capability and seating, green construction with sustainability features, and an overall improved design to support customer needs.

The RMV recommends that all customers “skip the trip” and visit RMV’s Online Service Center for over 60 transactions including: renewing a driver’s license, renewing a registration, paying a citation, requesting a hearing, accessing a variety of transactions for businesses, and when an in-person visit is necessary, scheduling an appointment.

If you have scheduled an appointment online, the RMV encourages you to prepare for your reservation by going to Mass.Gov/RMV for transaction information, forms, applications, and instructions.
