5/17/2018
  • Division of Insurance

“Over the past few months, the Massachusetts Division of Insurance (DOI) has been meeting with other state agencies to discuss the development of a bulletin about child/adolescent behavioral health services.  Working in collaboration with agencies in the Executive Office of Health and Human Services, the Division has drafted a proposed document  to clarify existing coverage requirements for child/adolescent behavioral health services.

We are very interested to listen to feedback about child-adolescent health services and have scheduled a meeting to take place on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 10AM in Room 1-E at the DOI Offices at 1000 Washington Street, Boston, MA, so that the Commissioner of Insurance, along with the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) and staff from HHS agencies can listen to feedback about the proposed document.

Interested parties will be asked during the session to forward specific thoughts about the proposed document by Friday, June 15, 2018 so that those thoughts may be circulated and considered in a second session that will take place on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 10AM at the same Room 1-E at the DOI Offices.  The Division may schedule additional sessions after June 27, 2018 if appropriate.

If you are interested to participate by telephone, please call (605) 475-3215 and use access code =  116040#.  (During the call, PLEASE BE SURE NOT TO PUT THE CALL ON HOLD AS THIS WILL DISRUPT THE CALL and please put your phone on mute until you wish to speak to eliminate background noise.)   If you are unable to attend or participate by phone but would like to send written comments, please forward them to Rebecca Butler at rebecca.butler@mass.gov  or me at kevin.beagan@mass.gov.

Thank you in advance for your attention to this.  Please call me if you have any outstanding questions.

Kevin Patrick Beagan

Deputy Commissioner, Health Care Access Bureau

P.S.  Please feel free to forward any of the attached documents to members of your trade associations or to other interested parties.”

Thank you!
