WOBURN — A Revere man has been indicted in connection with stealing $25,000 from safe inside an Encore Boston Harbor guest’s hotel room, Attorney General Maura Healey announced today.
Angel Hiduchick, 38, was indicted yesterday by a Middlesex County Grand Jury on one count of Larceny over $1,200 and one count of Larceny from a Building. He will be arraigned in Middlesex Superior Court at a later date.
The charges are the result of a joint investigation between the Massachusetts State Police Gaming Enforcement Unit at Encore Boston Harbor and the Massachusetts State Police Gaming Enforcement Detective Unit.
The AG’s Office alleges that on Oct. 16, Hiduchick gained unauthorized entry to an Encore guest’s hotel room and stole $25,000 from the safe – the majority of which he deposited into his personal bank account.
AG Healey’s Gaming Enforcement Division has a dedicated group of prosecutors and investigators who enforce the state’s Expanded Gaming Act of 2011 and investigate and prosecute illegal activity, such as gaming-related financial crime, organized crime, corruption and money laundering, including the majority of criminal activity occurring at the state’s casinos.
All of these charges are allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant Attorney General Kristyn Dusel Kelly, of AG Healey’s Gaming Enforcement Division, with assistance from Victim Witness Advocate Lia Panetta, of AG Healey’s Victim/Witness Services Division. The case was investigated by the Massachusetts State Police Gaming Enforcement Unit at Encore Boston Harbor and the Massachusetts State Police Gaming Enforcement Detective Unit with assistance from the AG’s Gaming Enforcement Division, the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, the Investigation and Enforcement Bureau of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, and the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, with the full cooperation of Encore Boston Harbor.
