Housing and Community Development

On February 17, 2023, the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) and Greater Boston Legal Services (GBLS) announced an agreement to settle a court case, known as Garcia v. DHCD.  The lawsuit was filed in December 2016 on behalf of a group of homeless families.  This court case relates to the Emergency Assistance Family Shelter (EA) program.  Copies of the settlement notice and a summary of the settlement notice are available in English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, Cape Verdean Creole and Arabic on this page.
