BOSTON — A joint operation on Wednesday, June 25, 2026, led by the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office’s State Police Detective Unit (SPDU) and prosecuted by the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office (AGO), resulted in the execution of search warrants at 16 locations in Haverhill, Methuen, Boston, and Lawrence and the arrest of eight suspects. During the searches, law enforcement seized approximately 3,800 grams of fentanyl, 385 grams of methamphetamine, 200 grams of cocaine, four firearms with large capacity magazines, 100 rounds of ammunition, and $100,00 in U.S. currency.
The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, SPDU – Essex County, Massachusetts State Police (MSP) Gang Unit, MSP Special Tactical Operations Team, MSP Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section, MSP Commonwealth Interstate Narcotics Reduction Enforcement Team – North, and the Boston, Lawrence, Methuen, Haverhill, and Manchester, New Hampshire Police Departments also provided valuable assistance during the investigation and takedown.
“Operation Lights Out” began in October 2025, when members of SPDU initiated a narcotics investigation into a drug trafficking organization involved in the distribution of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine in Essex and Suffolk counties. More than 100 investigatory warrants were obtained during the investigation to identify the organization’s hierarchy, primary subjects, communication devices, vehicles, methods of operation, and sources of narcotics supply.
On June 24, 2026, approximately 120 law enforcement troopers and officers, conducted a coordinated operation and executed search warrants at seven homes, two public storage lockers, one business, and six vehicles. All of these charges are allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
