Boston — Today, Attorney General Maura Healey issued the following statement on President Donald Trump’s announcement that he is banning transgender individuals from serving in the military:

“Transgender Americans have put their lives on the line to serve their country, and we owe them our gratitude and our respect. A Commander-in-Chief who disparages and denigrates our troops is unfit to lead. I am confident that regardless of party, we all believe in inclusion and opportunity for every American who puts on a uniform.”
