Press Release  Treasurer Goldberg Announces Program in Collaboration with Ernst & Young LLP for Women in Finance Fellowship

Boston — Treasurer Deb Goldberg announced a private-public collaboration with the Greater Boston offices of Ernst & Young LLP (EY) to expand the “Massachusetts Women in Finance Fellowship” in its third year. The initiative will place Massachusetts’s female-identifying undergraduate students into financial departments within the Massachusetts State Treasury.

“Women continue to graduate from colleges and universities at a higher rate than men. However, they are still underrepresented in traditionally higher paying jobs like those in the financial services industry,” said Treasurer Deb Goldberg. “This Fellowship program in conjunction with the EY Greater Boston offices will provide talented women the opportunity to develop the skills and self-confidence to take on challenges throughout their careers.”

The expansion will pair each Fellow with a female EY professional acting as a “private sector advisor.” The private sector advisor will provide insight into the private financial services industry. The expansion will allow Fellows to gain exposure to and build professional networks within a multinational professional services firm.
