BostonA registered sex offender has been charged in connection with possessing and disseminating child pornography, Attorney General Maura Healey announced today.

Kevin Moore, 41, of Weymouth, was arraigned today in Norfolk Superior Court on charges of Possession of Child Pornography (one count) and Dissemination of Child Pornography (two counts). Judge Kenneth Fishman set bail at $50,000 without prejudice, and Moore continues to be held without bail on a pending violation of probation matter. A hearing has been scheduled for February 6.

State Police assigned to the AG’s Office began investigating Moore after receiving information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about pornographic images uploaded to a Dropbox account using an IP address traced to Moore’s residence. Moore was arrested in April 2018 after a search warrant was executed at his home and an investigation of computer systems seized from his residence revealed images of child pornography.

Moore was previously convicted of possession and dissemination of child pornography in 2012 and sentenced to two and a half years in the House of Correction, as well as concurrent terms of probation following his release that included conditions such as no possession of pornography and no internet access.

This investigation is ongoing. These charges are allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

This matter is being prosecuted by Assistant Attorney General Stephen Carley of AG Healey’s Enterprise, Major and Cyber Crimes Division. This case is being investigated by Massachusetts State Police assigned to the AG’s Office, investigators from the AG’s Digital Evidence Lab, the State Police Crime Scene Services, and the Weymouth Police Department.
