Office of Dam Safety

This DCR Office of Dam Safety maintains records of dams located state-wide ensuring compliance with acceptable practices pertaining to dam inspection, maintenance, operation and repair.

All Jurisdictional-dam owners are responsible for:
• registering their dams,
• notifying Office of Dam Safety of a property transfer,
• inspecting and maintaining their dams in safe operating condition.
Additionally, High and Significant hazard potential dam owners are required to develop Emergency Action Plans.
